Six basic screen styles include the following varieties, all of which, in regular BRIGHTSCREEN^® 20/20^TM Series, will include any factory markings as originally molded into the screens. As an example: if the screen made by the individual camera manufacturer includes such features as brackets for auto focus or lines, the factory markings will be retained.

NUMBER 2. MICROPRISM SPOT CENTER: offers a central focusing aid microprism which shows a pattern of dots (microprisms) that are highly visible when the camera is not in focus, and gradually disappear when the subject is calibrated into correct focus. This aid is particularly beneficial for moving subjects. A new larger 13 mm microprism spot center Proscreen™ is also now available for all 645, 6x6, 6x7 and selected 35mm / digital cameras.

NUMBER 3. SPLIT IMAGE: offers two angled prisms divided into a circular pattern which appears as a circle split through the middle and provides focusing accomplished by the separation of a line. The line on the subject gradually merges into one line when proper focus is attained. This screen is extremely beneficial in situations of critical focusing for still subjects.

NUMBER 4. AND 5. SPLIT IMAGE WITH MICROPRISM COLLAR: The #4 has always been our most popular screen style until the #5 screen was produced. These screens combine both of  the features of our #2 and #3 screens. This screen is very commonly found in cameras and is often furnished by camera manufacturers as a standard style screen. When available, for most 35mm and 120 format cameras, this screen offers the best variety of overall general focusing features for both still and moving subjects. The NUMBER 5. PROSCREEN™ is available for most medium-format cameras, selected 35mm / digital and some long-roll cameras. It has the same features as #4, but with a larger than normal 6mm split image, and 13mm microprism collar.

NUMBER 6. PLAIN MATTE WITH GRID: this screen is primarily used for architectural and copy work. While advantageous in creating proper alignment of horizons and critical areas or copy work, it is not recommended for users who are not familiar with its characteristics, or for anyone who is not familiar with a full grid. Many photographers find this style distracting from subject matter for general purpose or portrait photography. For photographers who need an alignment of subject or horizons,  partial grid patterns are also available below in our optional crop and composition patterns.

Screens styles available for different cameras

20/20^™ BRIGHTSCREENS^® (produced from factory original screens) begin with the letter "b".
20/20™ PROSCREENS™ (custom produced screens for specific cameras) begin with the letter "p".
Screens which offer split images are identified with the angles of the split image direction by
"d" for diagonal, "h" for horizontal or "v" for vertical.

Screen styles not available are indicated by "n/a".
